Come for the beer, stay for the food!

The Last Chair Brewery in Plymouth, owned by Mike and Marisa Zuppa, is a place where passion for craft beer, dedication to community, and love for quality service create an unforgettable experience.

When it opened in 2016 under different ownership, The Last Chair was a stand-alone restaurant, with the 1766 Brewery located next door. The Zuppas, who were living in New Jersey, were busy working on plans to open a brewery there. When the COVID pandemic hit, however, they pivoted to the Plymouth area where they had previously owned a lake house. They bought the restaurant and brewery, combining them into The Last Chair we know today.

Since then, the establishment has grown into a hub for local activities and events. They host trivia nights every Tuesday from October through May, and they offer free live music every Thursday throughout the year. Their winter curling league is open to all, and they also host an annual craft fair featuring the work of local artists and a memorable anniversary party on the first Saturday in May.

Giving back to the community is a priority for the Zuppas. Their White Mountain District beer collaboration with the National Forest in Rumney is one example. At least once a year they brew a special beer and use the proceeds to throw a well-deserved party for the forest’s employees. They also raise money for Progressive Supernuclear Palsy research with their Zip seltzer to honor Mike’s dad, who suffered from the disease.

Each beer at The Last Chair is named after a ski lift in New Hampshire, and there are plans to expand to trail-inspired labels, keeping it local and personal.

While their tasty brews and comfort food are a big part of the experience at The Last Chair, what truly sets them apart is their commitment to exceptional service. In a world where good service can make all the difference, Mike and Marisa have succeeded in crafting a warm and inviting space that’s a destination to savor, in every sense of the word.
