Ski Fanatics

23 Vintinner Road Campton, NH 03223
(603) 726-4327

OFFERING FOUR SEASONS OF FUN SINCE 1987

Don’t let the name fool you: Ski Fanatics is far more than a winter sport shop. Tucked just off Exit 28 from I-93, Ski Fanatics provides high-quality products, equipment rentals and repairs, and guided recreation all year round. Hikers, bikers, paddlers, skiers, snowboarders… all are welcome at Ski Fanatics.

THE FACE OF THE PLACE

John and Katie Gallagher are young parents, active members of the Central NH community, and owners of Ski Fanatics. As you can imagine, the Gallaghers are an outdoorsy bunch. “We try to give ourselves time [for recreation]. We try to take every Monday off to ski and snowboard together. I mountain bike in the summer, and Katie is really into yoga,” said John. Their six-year-old, Colin, loves playing soccer and recently started what will surely be a long skiing career. Piper, their two-year-old daughter, has yet to find her niche, but with a family business full of sporting equipment, she is off to a good start.

This is something you can’t get online. It’s all about the customer experience.

LOOKING BACK

Ski Fanatics has been thriving since 1987, when it was started by Don and Deb Engelhardt. John Gallagher began working for the Engelhardts in 2006. After a brief stint away, he returned in 2014 when the Engelhardts were ready to retire. “We have a very loyal customer base. Some of our customers have been visiting us since 1987,” said John.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Gallaghers will continue to offer boutique ski brands, lifestyle clothing as well as products from environmentally-conscious companies. Their personal approach to customer service has brought the same customers back year after year, locals and out-of-towners alike. John and Katie have begun to specialize in ski boots and custom boot fitting. “This is something you can’t get online,” John said. “It’s all about the customer experience.”

LOOK AGAIN

Stop in to visit when you’re passing through Campton. Plan a family float down the river, or grab an extra ski hat. Chat with John or Katie about the best bike routes, or try stand-up paddle boarding. Ski Fanatics is worth a look. It’s conveniently-located, well-stocked, and has its finger on the pulse of 603.
