We made this beer for you!

Sarah Dreshaj and John Anderson are proud of the community they’ve built at the Dam Brewhouse & Profile Spirits in Campton.

“We called it a brewhouse because it’s literally in a house,” says Sarah. And that house feels like home to the regulars who come to catch up with friends, listen to music, compete in trivia night, take classes, and join in potlucks with the Thursday Night Mug Club.

John and Sarah call the amazing ability this little house has to bring people together “the Brewhouse Magic.” One woman reconnected with long-lost relatives there, while others who’ve traveled from across the country have unexpectedly found themselves chatting with folks from their home town.

When the Dam Brewhouse first opened, only 18 people could fit in the tasting room, but they’ve been expanding and adapting ever since. During the initial year of the pandemic, they kept the community vibe alive by setting up their gazebo with plastic dividers so people could sit outside. Today, the renovated house seats 52 and the beer garden seats nearly 50 more.

Their motto is, “We made this beer for you,” and perhaps it might also say “with you,” since ingredients are sourced from local or regional suppliers wherever possible. Not only is local sourcing environmentally sustainable, it also supports the area’s economy and results in a fresher product. They also use a second well on the property to chill their beer and then pump it back into the pond, keeping their costs low and reducing waste.

The Dam Brewhouse will host the Chamber’s December Business After Hours (date TBA soon), but you don’t have to wait until then to experience the magic! Stop by on Thursday, Sunday, or Monday between 1-6 PM, or on Friday or Saturday between 1-8 PM, and try one of the Dam Brewhouse’s seven on-tap beers. Or you can take some home – choose a 4-pack of Freestyle IPA, their most popular brew, or mix and match more than one to create your own sampler.
