Inspire Cafe is excited to host a “HIKE SAFE IN THE WHITES” Speakers Series.
Please join us at the cafe for the first talk in our series “Hike Safe in the White Mountains” on Thursday, June 8 at 7 pm with John Marunowski, a Partnership and Volunteer Coordinator with nearly 20 years of experience working on the White Mountain National Forest.
John specializes in connecting new partner groups and volunteers to the vital work happening on the landscape. Many of his years have been spent working to improve trails and recreational facilities in backcountry and wilderness areas. John has worked tirelessly to foster a sense of community through building important volunteer programs such as the Trailhead Stewards where experienced volunteers give critical safety information to hikers before they begin their hike. Stewards contact nearly 25,000 hikers from mid-May through mid-October hoping to prevent costly search and rescue missions. In his free time, John is always seeking more time outdoors with his family, in quiet corners of the forest, or planning his next multi-day bike tour.
